The popularity and notoriety of the keyword \u201cmake money blogging<\/a>\u201d proves that.<\/p>\n

Second, we often see more and more bloggers jump into the blogging world with the mere hope to make money with their blog. There\u2019s nothing wrong with this.<\/p>\n

But without having the right amount of knowledge about what it takes to make money blogging, how long will it take to make a stable online income and what are the hurdles\/difficulties you will face in the process – you can never succeed<\/em>.<\/p>\n

While this is a huge topic, in this blog post I am going to focus on the things that actually stop<\/em> you from making money blogging!<\/p>\n

After eliminating all these things will not only help you skyrocket your earnings but will also put you in the right mindset to making money blogging.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s jump right in.<\/p>\n

#1 You do not have knowledge about readers\u2019 problems<\/h2>\n

With blogging, your money (income) doesn\u2019t come from anywhere but from your readers. Your readers are your potential customers.<\/p>\n

They are the ones who will buy your service or your product. They are the ones that will click on your affiliate links to help you earn commissions.<\/p>\n

They are the ones you do business with.<\/p>\n

Without helping them out with your content and as well as with your products\/services<\/a>\/recommendations, you cannot expect to make money from your blog.<\/p>\n

And how can you help them out? You need to first know what they are struggling with. You need to know about their problems and pain points.<\/p>\n

So you need to first find out who your target audience<\/a> are and then find out their problems and pain points. And help them out.<\/p>\n

#2 You have the \u201cAlways after money\u201d mindset<\/h2>\n

This could be a counterintuitive advice – but having the \u201cmoney, money\u201d mindset actually puts you away from making money.<\/p>\n

I am not saying that you should not think about monetisation methods, or that you should not try and push sales.<\/p>\n

But trying to look at everything<\/em> related to blogging as everything about money isn\u2019t going to work.<\/p>\n

It will drive people away – because nobody likes sales pitches bombarded on their faces all the time.<\/p>\n

Nobody likes to pay for everything you want to offer.<\/p>\n

So feel free to share awesome information and send out promotional call-outs sparingly.<\/p>\n

At the same time, your readers will be willing to pay for well-packaged information that solves their problems. So focus on developing such kind of products or services.<\/p>\n

#3 You don\u2019t market your blog\u2019s content<\/h2>\n

No matter how great your content<\/a> is, if you fail to market your blog, you won\u2019t get the expected results.<\/p>\n

I see a blog as a marketing tool in itself. Via the content you publish on your blog you are marketing your business!<\/p>\n

But your blog\u2019s content needs marketing too, or else, all the awesome content you create will never see the light.<\/p>\n

So yes, spend 20% of the time creating content and 80% of your time and efforts in promoting it!<\/p>\n

If you fail to do this bit, no matter how hard you try, you can only make pennies out of your efforts!<\/p>\n

A few ways to market your blog are:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Doing guest posts (I\u2019m a big fan!)<\/li>\n
  2. Commenting on other blogs<\/li>\n
  3. Participating in blogging communities<\/a> like DoSplash (with the pro plans<\/a>, you can automate submission and skyrocket your promotional reach)<\/li>\n
  4. Running Adwords (can burn a hole in your pocket if you don\u2019t play it right), or Facebook ads (can get you decent benefits on a reasonable budget)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    #4 You don\u2019t do things consistently<\/h2>\n

    Consistency is a big thing – especially when it comes to blogging! Consistency helps you to scale up your efforts.<\/p>\n

    And I strongly believe that scaling up is highly crucial to make a stable income from your blog.<\/p>\n

    Publishing blog posts whenever you feel like doing so is not going to cut it. Your readers will simply forget about your website because they are loaded with information everyday.<\/p>\n

    Having said that, I am not insisting that you publish everyday – that is not necessary. But whatever frequency you find convenient – stick to that.<\/p>\n

    The same applies for launching products or new services. And promoting affiliate products as well.<\/p>\n

    Be consistent and you can easily scale up your profits.<\/p>\n

    #5 You lack knowledge about money making opps in your niche<\/h2>\n

    There are so many opportunities in every niche to make money. And the opps keep improving everyday with latest technological advancements.<\/p>\n

    It is really important that you keep yourself updated of the opps in your niche.<\/p>\n

    If you are an affiliate marketer, you need to keep tabs of any launches, sales and stuff like that.<\/p>\n

    You need to be aware of any new affiliate programs that are rolling out.<\/p>\n
